I recently had the opportunity to try out the Colgate Optic White 2-in-1 toothbrush and whitening pen. This easy to use product has a built in whitening pen in a toothbrush.

 The pen is very easy to use and only requires two clicks per use, making the pen last for awhile. The only downside I found was that the base was so bulky that it did not fit in my toothbrush holder.

Love With Food Review - August 2013

I love subscription boxes. Treats in the mail every month for a low price? Yes, please! I love surprises in the mail, especially when I normally only get bills.

I stumbled upon Love with Food through Swagbucks. They had a promotion where you could get your first box for the cost of shipping only, which came to $2.00. They offer many subscription plans that you can view here: Subscription Plans. For every sale they donate a meal to a hungry child.

August's box was themed "Backyard BBQ." Which seems very appropriate seeing as the apartment complex I'm living in is having a community BBQ as I type this.

What was included in the Backyard BBQ box:

Original Creamy Praline from Aunt Sally's. New Orleans' most famous praline is studded with Louisiana pecans smothered in fudgy coating.

I've never had a praline, so I'm not really sure what they are meant to taste like. This was too sugary for my liking, but it was fine.

Crunchers from Sahale Snacks. Naturally dried cranberries, roasted sliced almonds, and sesame seeds are lightly glazed with orange blossom honey.

Another one I haven't tried yet. Sounds like it would be amazing to bring along on a hike.

Sea Salt Potato Chips from Good Boy Organics. Full of crunchy flavor, these baked organic potato snacks are GMO-free. 

These chips taste pretty much like any other baked potato chip. The sea salt flavor is perfect and was my favorite part of this product. I briefly thought about dipping these in the salsa that was included in the box, but decided I wanted to wait for some tortilla chips.

Snapea Crisps from Harvest Snaps. The smooth, mild flavor of fresh peas is simply baked into this natural snack.

I'm not a fan of peas, but I will definitely give this product a try.

All Natural Salsa from El Pinto. Made in New Mexico with roasted green chiles and jalapenos for a touch of heat. 

We don't have any chips, but I can't wait to dig into this!

Amsterdam Waffle Cookie from Rip van Wafels. Luscious caramel is sandwiched between thin waffle cookies in this classic Dutch treat. 

The first product I tried from this box. They suggest putting it on top of your coffee/tea mug and letting the steam "cook" the cookie. So I pulled out one of my favorite mugs and filled it with hot tea. It was really yummy when it was soft and warm. I tried it out of the package and it wasn't bad, but it definitely tasted better steamed.

Sugar-Free Fresh Mints from Project7. For each adorable tube enjoyed, Project7 will plant a fruit tree. 

What an awesome company! The mints taste great. They have a spearmint flavor to them that I love.

All Natural Spice Rub from the Dizzy Pig Co.. This flavorful rub pairs well with BBQ classics like ribs, burgers, and chicken. 

Haven't tried this one yet, but I love a good seasoning.

I'm very excited about this box and would recommend that anyone try it for at least a month. Their boxes ship out by the 10th of the month and they ship out of Georgia. My box was shipped on the 9th and I got it on the 15th in Northern CA.

Q-tips® Precision Tips™

As part of the Influenster I Do Vox Box, I received some Q-tips® Precision Tips™. These are perfect for cleaning up any makeup that may have strayed from where it was meant to go. For me, I always have trouble with my mascara. Like when I sneeze shortly after putting mascara on and I'm left with mascara lines running under my eyes (like in the picture below). That's no problem for Q-tips® Precision Tips™ though. I just swiped it under my eye and I didn't have to worry about loosing all my other makeup in the process! It also helped me out when I got mascara on my eye lid, and my eye makeup still looked good.

Being a huge fan of high heels, but not so much a huge fan of the foot pain they cause, I was excited to try out the Dr. Scholl's For Her Ball of Foot inserts that were included in my 2013 Something Blue VoxBox from Influenster. The Dr. Scholl's line of inserts are one of my favorites already and I have multiple shoes with various inserts in them already. I love that they fit all size shoes, because wearing a size 10.5-11 doesn't tend to offer many choices for inserts. As part off the 2013 Influenster Something Blue VoxBox, a tube of Luster NOW! Instant Whitening toothpaste was included. I'm always skeptical of toothpastes claims to instantly whiten teeth, but this product does a pretty good job of doing just that. The toothpaste itself is a blue color and it looks like you've been munching on Smurfs when you brush your teeth, which always makes me chuckle. The flavor of the toothpaste is mint and is very pleasant.

Target Beauty Box

At the beginning of May, TargetStyle introduced their first Beauty Box. They followed the same ideas such as Birchbox and ipsy. For now this was just a trial run and there is no guarantee they will continue this program in the future. To purchase the box, you needed to enter your payment info on their Facebook page and could not use a Target credit or debit card. The cost of the box was $5 and included shipping.

Overall, the box was worth the $5. I'm not a fan of the razor or the print of the nail art, but it was fun getting the box (which took 6 weeks to arrive) in the mail.

          The Goody QuikStyle brush claims to help dry your hair quicker than just letting it air dry. I didn't really find this to be true, but then again, I've never really timed how quickly my hair has dried. It did help my hair look absolutely amazing when using a blowdryer. Normally when I blowdry my hair, it's a big poof-ball that goes in a million and one different directions. This brush helped my hair to look well kept.
